Buddy and Marley

My son Jeremy and I thought Marley, our cat, needed a "buddy" to play with since we were both away from home during the day.

Buddy and MarleyWe had looked at several places in the Dallas area before stopping at Dallas Animal Services. We were amazed at all the animals that were there. My son and I both thought they had a great place to stay until they were all adopted. It felt like the cats were taken care of really well. We both wanted to adopt them all!

We met volunteer Molly who showed us so many different cats and their personalities. I was surprised at how well she knew all the cats. Her knowledge of them helped us tremendously. She showed us so many cats we didn't know who to pick until we met Whiner.

We had some tough decisions to make and couldn’t make a choice that day between Whiner and several other cats. So we slept on it that night and came back the next day and thought Whiner would be the best fit for Marley and us. When we came back we met with Molly and she told us she had taken Whiner and put him in a play area thinking we would be back to adopt him. She was right. His personality and playfulness with the other cats helped us make the right choice of adopting him.

We brought him home and introduced him to Marley and they hit it off almost instantly. A little growling on Marley's part when he meet Whiner at first. I guess that was his way of showing Whiner he was in charge here. Other than that they have been inseparable ever since. Jeremy and I thought Whiner should have a new name. We had a hard time thinking of one to fit his personality, but we finally came up with "Buddy" — since we had always thought Marley needed a "Buddy" to pal around with. They do without a doubt get along very well. Jeremy and I have laughed so much in the little time we have had "Buddy." He and Marley are always into something or just wrestling together on their cat tree. We both look forward to many more good times with Buddy and Marley. He is definetly a part of our family.

Thank You soooooo much Molly and Dallas Animal Services for introducing us to Whiner aka Buddy.
